Member since October 2025
Weingut Schloss Janson is a 6th generation family-run wine estate on the grounds of a former castle: the Emichsburg. Located on the most northerly town on the Deutsche Weinstraße in the Pfalz, Kurt and Sarah Janson farm 25 hectares (60 acres) of Riesling, Burgundy variatels such as Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, and traditional German variatals such as Dornfelder and Silvaner. As an sustainable and organically certified estate, they are also experimenting with new hybrid variatals that are drought and fungus resistant. Kurt and Sarah love welcoming guests to their winery, be it for a tasting in the Vinothek, one of their many events or for a stay in their newly opened luxury guesthouse. They especially love international, English speaking guests as Sarah Janson is a native of Long Island, New York.
