Weingut Philipps-Mühle

The tradition of the old grain mill meets the modernity of the new winery. We, the two winemakers Thomas and Martin Philipps, are recultivating fallow vineyards against the trend in order to preserve the region's millennia-old winemaking tradition. Our 6.4 hectares of vineyards (started in 2005 with 0.3 hectares) are mostly located on Devon slate soils on steep slopes and are predominantly planted with Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Red Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, as well as new fungus-resistant grape varieties. As winemakers, we work in and with nature all day long and produce a natural product that brings exciting new challenges every year. We therefore work according to the guidelines of organic viticulture. This results in characteristic wines characterized by minerality and fruit aromas.
