Join the Saar Wine Festival from August 31st – September 2nd!
For three days on the first weekend in September, Saar winegrowers and regional restaurateurs transform Saarburg’s old town into a lively wine route. The Saar Wine Festival features an array of wine tastings, live music, the coronation of the Saar-Obermosel wine queens, musical fireworks over the Saar, wine tours, and a traditional parade on Sunday. The festivities include the opening of the wine route, historical and specialty wine tours, and various live performances throughout the weekend.
Program
Saturday:
2:00 p.m.: Opening of the wine route.
3:00 p.m.: Historical wine tour (register online at saarweinfest.de/führungen).
5:30 p.m.: Wine tour “Great Saar wines” (register online at saarweinfest.de/führungen). 7:30 p.m
.: Entry of the wine royalty.
8:15 p.m.: Coronation ceremony with the MV Ockfen and the Heimatmusikanten Wawern. Afterwards, musical fireworks and live music with Bauer’s Brass Band.
Sunday:
1:30 p.m.: Live music in the city center.
2:00 p.m.: Opening of the wine route and parade through the city center. Coffee and cake and free entry to the KulturGießerei.
Afterward, live music in the wine route with Egon Altenhofen, Jenny Waack, and Emotions.
Monday:
2:00 p.m.: Opening of the wine route.
7:00 p.m.: Live music with Elke Trossen, Duo Nova and Schlappengas.
