About the Winery: La Micro Winerie Bordeaux
La Micro Winerie is an urban winery in the city center of Bordeaux – a hotspot for ecological transition: DARWIN.
The concept is hand-picked grapes from their partner winegrowers, all organic or biodynamic, and vinification/aging on site. Maxime Rozé, the Oenologist, creates “terroir fusion” wines based on the freshness and renewal of Bordeaux.
They also welcome people throughout the year to wine workshops for immersive experiences. Wine making and tasting merge around keywords: conviviality, indulgence, and relaxation.
About the Wine Maker: Maxime Roze
“Originally Breton, I have no one in my family working in the wine industry. My parents, both computer engineers, always enjoyed wine (with a bottle of red at the table), without knowing much about it.
During my agricultural engineering studies, I discovered the world of wine through my first experience in a Biodynamic estate in Chinon: the Grosbois estate. Having until then only a vague idea of what I would like to do professionally, I immediately wanted to continue on this path, finally, for me, a career that made sense! I therefore continued my studies by obtaining an Oenologist Diploma, and spending several seasons in production in different areas: in France and also abroad (New Zealand, California, Argentina), to see the various ways to make wine.
After a while, the desire came to me to make my own wine, with the desire to be independent, and free to do things as I wanted. But not having access to land, I turned towards purchasing grapes, and while doing that, in a central location, where I could also organize events to share this passion with others.
So I proposed the project to different places, and it matched quite quickly with the Darwin structure. Philippe and Jean Benoit had this project in the pipeline for several years and it made sense in the business ecosystem (already having a beer/coffee/chocolate production). The Micro Winerie was therefore born in 2021 for its first harvests!”
