About the Winery: Weingut Neus
The recently published Vinum Weinguide 2022 honors this winery as “Winery of the Year in Rheinhessen”! As a Pinot Noir specialist, J.Neus uses its clones to extract fine nuances from this grape variety, whose precision and freshness are reminiscent of the best growths of Bourgogne. This is achieved with enormous effort, but the reward in the glass is extremely satisfying.
Since 1881, the J.Neus winery has stood for Pinot Noir tradition in the red wine town of Ingelheim am Rhein. Back then, founder Josef Neus Senior laid the foundation for their self-imposed goal of producing Pinot Noir at the highest level. Today, these old vines, well-maintained wooden barrels, and in-depth knowledge of the chalky sites in the district form the solid basis for meeting the standards they have set for themselves.
