On the last weekend in August, Cochem hosts the local history and wine festival, one of the largest and most beautiful on the Moselle.
Celebrations take place along the Moselle promenade and in the market square, featuring numerous wine stands offering fine Riesling and sparkling Riesling wines. Two stages provide first-class entertainment with many bands and show bands.
The highlight of the festival is Sunday, with a grand parade at 2 p.m. through Cochem’s streets and alleys, followed by a colorful fireworks display at 10 p.m.
