Dressed in ghostly sheets, locals and visitors alike gather to parade through the shadowy streets of this charming Eifel town, accompanied by the haunting sounds of the traditional carnival march.
The Blankenheim Ghost Parade, a beloved tradition, aims to scare away the dark winter spirits. Participants, armed with torches if they wish, follow the Blankenheim Lead Ghost on horseback and his merry crew through the night. The procession culminates at the Weiherhalle, where a lively ghost party awaits.
